Syllabus:

This course deals with the theoretical principles and practical methodologies associated with mine planning. The course presents principles of surface and underground mine planning and valuation applicable to metalliferous and coal mining projects. Students will be introduced to basic manual procedures, computer applications or algorithms/methods, and mathematical modelling. Students will be expected to complete a mine planning project with emphasis on pit optimisation, long term production scheduling and financial technical modelling.
