Syllabus:

This course provides students with the opportunity to undertake an original and independent media-based project of their own choice. The long-form essay of 10,000 to 12,000 words will be the result of planning, research and writing that will help the student to further develop academic skills, in research, critical analysis and writing, to an advanced level. Students will be supervised by an academic staff member in a workshop format. Supervisors help with the development of the research topic and questions and provide regular support and feedback for the students. The combination of independent research with the guidance and support of the academic supervisor is the essential learning and teaching part of this core component of the Media Master program.
