PUB HLTH 7031 - Practical Occupational Health and Hygiene

This skills-oriented course introduces approaches and tools for the practical application of occupational health, hygiene and ergonomics principles. There will be a broad coverage of techniques for the evaluation and control of exposure to chemical, physical and microbiological hazards in a variety of work settings. This will include anthropometric data and tools for the rapid 2021 FHMS Minor Course Change Request Form (Updated January 2020) assessment of exertional or repetitive tasks. Health risks will be characterised in the light of exposure models and strategies, data and standards. A range of occupational health interventions such as engineering controls and personal protective equipment will be illustrated and critically reviewed in authentic contexts.
