To provide students with the fundamental concepts and principles of modern chemical and pharmaceutical engineering thermodynamics with an emphasis on relevance to other parts of the chemical and pharmaceutical engineering curriculum. Topics to be covered in this course include: conservation of mass and energy; entropy; thermodynamics properties of real gases; multicomponent mixtures; phase equilibrium in mixtures; equilibrium for reacting systems; analysis of power and refrigeration cycles.
