Syllabus:

This course enables students to undertake the practice of music in various community settings, and experience work as a ‘musician in residence’. Students will learn how to translate the theories they have learned in MUSGEN 3011 Music, Health and Wellbeing A in semester one into practice. Students will undertake short performances in community settings on a weekly basis under the guidance and supervision of academic staff from the Elder Conservatorium of Music. In addition, students will come together on a weekly basis in seminars to share ideas on musical activities and repertoires, as well as to discuss their community performance experiences. Students will build and share their portfolios of music repertoire that are applicable to community performance.
