Syllabus:	This is an advanced postgraduate course in development economics. This course aims to provide students with an economic understanding of the origins of uneven patterns of economic development, as well as an understanding of policies that can be applied in developing countries and how we can measure their effectiveness. Topics may include productivity effects of health, private and social returns to education, child labour, public finance, firms and contracts, and the markets for land, credit and savings.
