Syllabus:

This course introduces students to a variety of subjects relevant to commercial transactions and provides a foundation for subsequent courses addressing related concepts. The course introduces students to commerce in Australia, including the various business structures and regulators, and provides an overview of contract law (a subject covered in more detail in other courses). Other subjects to be covered include sale of goods; commercial leases; insurance law; personal property law and the Personal Property Securities legislation; competition regulation and the Australian Consumer Law; and international commercial transactions.
