Enterprise success depends on a well-defined strategy. Managers should be able to link the organisation’s objectives, structure, resources and business environment in order to achieve higher enterprise performance. This can be accomplished by creating a clear sense of direction and developing an enterprise framework for discussion and alignment for decisions to be made. Managers play a core role in developing enterprise strategy that provides vision and direction, and to communicate and share that direction so that everyone understands how they can contribute. A three-step approach will be followed in this course: understanding the environment (what can be done?), selecting actions (what and why?), and implementation (How?).
