Syllabus:

The Wine Business Research Project is the capstone experience for the Master of Wine Business. The course provides graduate students with the opportunity to undertake a supervised research project on a relevant wine business topic. The project can be either industry-focused, or research-orientated. Students will conduct a literature review, fine-tune a research proposal, conduct the research, collect data, analyse data, clearly present the findings, and submit an 8000-word research thesis. It will develop students' knowledge of the scope of research, together with the processes and techniques used in marketing research. Specific topics include an introduction to research in marketing, research problem identification, research design, qualitative and quantitative methods, data collection instruments, qualitative and quantitative data analysis, reporting and presentation of results. Assessments include formal oral and written deliverables at a graduate standard. Wine Business Research Project Part A and Part B must be undertaken in consecutive trimesters and a passing grade is required in Part A before continuing in Part B.
